Why businesses choose DotLease

Four reasons, not six.

We tell you what won’t work

01

If a role can’t be delivered compliantly in your market, or the budget doesn’t match the skill, you’ll hear it in the first conversation.

Vetted before shortlisted

02

Skills verification, references and role-relevant assessment are completed before a profile reaches you, not after you’ve expressed interest.

No employer expenses

03

You pay for the work, not the employment. There are no payroll taxes, medical, pension, paid leave, training or severance. Contractors are responsible for their own tax, and you engage them only for as long as you need them.

We stay after placement

04

A named point of contact for the life of the engagement, for both client and contractor.

Global Coverage

South African talent. Every timezone.

Our contractors are predominantly South African based, fluent native English speakers in a timezone that overlaps the UK and Europe all day, covers US East Coast mornings through end of day, and aligns naturally with GCC working hours.

Every placement is remote by default. Where a client needs on-site presence, we’ll tell you plainly whether we can support it rather than promising it and working it out later.

Engagement models

Part-time, full-time, or something in between.

Every placement is an independent contractor engagement. Not sure which shape fits? That’s the first thing we’ll work out with you, before any candidate is put forward.

Part-time engagement

01

A set number of hours or days a week, scaling up or down as your workload changes. The contractor invoices you for the work and remains responsible for their own tax and social contributions.

Full-time engagement

02

A contractor dedicated to you full-time and aligned to your working day. Still an independent contractor, so there is no payroll, no benefits and no leave liability on your side.

Project-based engagement

03

Scoped to a deliverable or a fixed term, with a written agreement covering the work, the timeline and the handover. Suited to specialist skills you need for a defined piece of work.

Compliance

Compliance is the service, not the small print.

Cross-border hiring goes wrong in predictable ways: a contractor who was never genuinely independent, candidate data moved across borders without a lawful basis, a screening process that can’t be defended if challenged. We build against those failure points rather than around them.

Worker classification

01

Every role is assessed against the tests that apply in the client’s jurisdiction before we recommend an engagement model, not after a contract is signed.

Data protection

02

Candidate and client data is handled under GDPR and UK GDPR standards, South Africa’s POPIA, and applicable US state privacy law, with documented transfer mechanisms for data moving between regions.

Fair and lawful screening

03

Selection is based on documented, role-relevant criteria. Any technology used in screening operates under human oversight, with a person accountable for every decision to advance or reject a candidate.

Ethical recruitment

04

Candidates never pay us a fee. The client does, always. Right-to-work and identity verification is completed before placement.

Contractual clarity

05

Confidentiality, IP assignment and data-handling obligations are documented in every engagement, for every party.

How it works

From enquiry to start date.

Tell us what you need

01

Send us the role, the hours, the region and the start date. No forms to chase, and nothing to commit to until we understand the brief.

We scope and advise

02

We come back with the right engagement model for the role and confirm what’s deliverable in your market, including anything that isn’t.

We source and vet

03

Structured screening against your specification: skills verification, references, communication assessment and role-relevant testing.

You choose

04

Review a shortlist of assessed profiles. Interview whoever you want to. Nobody reaches you who hasn’t been through the full process.

We handle the paperwork

05

Contracting, classification, data agreements and onboarding. Then we stay involved for the life of the engagement.

Questions

Frequently asked questions.

What roles can DotLease place?expand_more

Virtual assistants, sales development reps, customer service and support contractors, and specialist skills across finance, IT, engineering, marketing and technical disciplines. Both part-time and full-time, always as independent contractors.

Where are your contractors based?expand_more

Predominantly South Africa. They are fluent, native English speakers in a timezone that overlaps the UK and Europe all day, covers US East Coast mornings through end of day, and aligns naturally with GCC working hours. We place with clients across the US, UK & Europe, and the Middle East & Africa.

Do I pay any employer costs?expand_more

No. Every placement is an independent contractor, so there are no payroll taxes, statutory contributions, medical, pension, paid annual or sick leave, training, equipment or severance on your side. Contractors are responsible for their own tax in their country of residence, and you pay only for the work required.

Can I engage someone part-time?expand_more

Yes. Virtual assistant, SDR, BDR and support roles are regularly engaged part-time, and can scale to full-time as your needs change, under the same arrangement.

How do you handle worker classification?expand_more

Every role is assessed against the classification tests that apply in your jurisdiction before we place anyone. If a role genuinely functions as employment rather than independent work, we will tell you rather than papering over it.

What happens to candidate and client data?expand_more

Data is processed under GDPR, UK GDPR and POPIA standards with documented lawful bases and transfer mechanisms. Our full framework is set out on the compliance page.

How long does placement take?expand_more

It depends on the role and region. We give you a realistic timeframe when we scope the brief, rather than an optimistic one at enquiry stage.
